Well...I finally did it. I gave in and cooked my first real follow-a-recipe dinner. I know it is hard to believe, but I had not cooked my poor Tony a meal our whole married life until last night. I am not big on food, as most of you know, and Tony was never home at dinner time to cook for. So I had never cooked. The sad thing is that it wasn't even a real meal. It was just casserole and then I tried to bake bread (pillsbury - out of the can) but I didn't time it right and it turned out doughy and yucky.
So Tony was sick, and found this casserole recipe that looked good. I decided what the heck and thought I would tackle it. It wasn't too hard, just mix all together and bake. It turned out ok - Tony liked it. I am not big on mushroom soup or chicken (which are the main ingredients) so I wasn't a fan. Next time (if there is one) then I am going to use cream of broccoli soup and omit the chicken on my side of the pan.
Such are the chronicles of Tony and Bergen's life. Not too exciting, but this whole cooking thing was a big accomplishment. Try not to look down on me for being a failure of a wife. I know all you out there probably have a fully cooked hot dinner on the table at 6:00 pm sharp!

Ha! I haven't cooked Devin a hot meal for the last two months! And even before that it wasn't often. We had a pretty nasty kitchen and it wasn't inspiring me to cook anything. However, if I had a kitchen like yours then I would cook more often. It is gorgeous! If you need some good easy recipes I have a few. I am the kind of cook that doesn't like anything too involved. You eat it too fast to spend hours preparing it.
You are so funny! I didn't know that wives were supposed to have dinner on the table every night at 6:00 sharp. I'll for sure have to try that one!
I can't believe it, you little Miss Domestic thing you! We need to come down and visit you guys, we won't even make you cook, we'll pick up something :)
Way to go, Bergen! I know Tony loves you the same if you cook or not, but I'm real impressed!
Bergen... look at you go. I love to cook but there is no point when your husband isn't home.. like becca said we need to all go to lunch or diner since we are all so close now
Hey! I just found your blog. I'm so glad. I haven't seen you guys in forever. I hope you guys are both doing well!
Yea Bergen! I think I live on cream of mushroom soup and chicken for dinners! Oh well, it's amazing what we do for our husbands isn't it. My big beef is laundry. I still refuse to iron! And it's almost been 8 years :)
Is Tony's little brother named Kyle? Weird question I know but just wondering.
HI Bergen! I haven't seen you in such a long time! Your casserole looked lovely:) I hope you like Springville - it's hard moving away at first, but gets much better.
I think he took my sis-in-law Macken Brady to junior prom. She said she was going with a Kyle Hernandez from Smithfeild . I was thinking it might be Tony's brother but didn't know his little brothers name. How fun that they went together! Brooks still has 2 years after this. So it will be a while but we really like it here. there are a ton of LDS students which makes it really fun.Do you guys like it in Springville? Did Tony just graduate and get a job? That is really nice if he did. It would be nice to be in a real job:)
Great job Berg! I'm sad you moved though. Love your blog!
